You are building from abroad. We act as your representative on the ground: we put the work out to tender, you choose the contractor, we check each stage before you pay for the next one, and we report to you every month. You keep the money. We keep the watch.
Ghanaians abroad building or renovating a family home, and small private developers funding a build from a distance. Most of you already know the problem: the only person watching your money is a relative with no training, or the builder himself. Good people, no eyes. Stage after stage is paid for on a phone call and a photograph, and by the time anything is noticed the money has gone.
Build Oversight puts a trained, independent person between your money and the work, from the first quote to the last payment, without taking a single decision out of your hands.
Everything is agreed in a written client agreement before any work begins: the scope, the visit rhythm, the reporting, and the fee. No surprises, in either direction.
The reason this service is worth paying for is the one thing we refuse to do. We take no commission, fee, gift or benefit from any contractor, supplier or tradesperson, ever. It is written into the Code of Conduct every person working for us signs. Our only client on your build is you, and our only income from it is the fee you agreed with us. That is what makes our word about your builder's work worth having.
We never hold your money. Every payment goes from you to the contractor directly. We do not take deposits, we do not pass money on, and we do not operate any account on your behalf.
We never choose your contractor. We shortlist, vet and compare. You decide, in writing, and you can appoint someone we did not propose.
We are not the builder, the architect or the engineer. Where a design or engineering judgement is needed, the report says so and names the discipline. A visual inspection does not replace a specialist survey.
We do not verify land ownership or title. That is work for a licensed Ghanaian lawyer and the Lands Commission, and we will always say so. We oversee what is built on the land. Secure the land first.
We report the position on the day. We can tell you what a contractor has done; no one can promise you what a contractor will do. Our reports are independent verification of observable conditions and are not engineering, legal or financial advice.
Send us where the site is, what stage you are at, whether you already have a contractor, and roughly how long the build is expected to take. We will reply within hours with how we would approach it and a written proposal for the visit rhythm, the reporting and the fee. Build Oversight is usually charged as a monthly retainer or per stage, and it is agreed in writing before anything starts. Available in Accra, Kumasi and Tema, other areas on request.
